NEUROPHYSIOLOGICAL MECHANISMS OF THE STATES OF SLEEP.

Abstract

Research was performed in order to establish with more direct evidence the working hypothesis that the two states of sleep (slow wave sleep and paradoxical sleep) are dependent upon monoaminergic mechanisms. Neuropharmacological, histochemical and neurochemical technics have been used in association with our standard chronic continuous neurophysiological recordings. (Author)
