KINETICS OF HYDROGEN-OXYGEN AND HYDROCARBON-OXYGEN REACTIONS.

Abstract

The report summarizes progress made on four main topics: (a) the use of computer programmes to interpret the hydrogen-oxygen and carbon monoxide-hydrogen-oxygen reactions; (b) the oxidation of methane in slowly reacting hydrogen-oxygen mixtures; (c) the addition of neopentane to slowly reacting hydrogen-oxygen mixtures; (d) the oxidation of propionaldehyde in aged boric-acid-coated vessels. The interpretation of the results obtained and the evaluation of velocity constants from the results are discussed. (Author)
