MATHEMATICAL RESEARCH ON CODING THEORY.
Abstract
The report presents a summary of the research performed under the contract in the field of Coding Theory. Since the work performed has been amply documented in the 23 technical memoranda and 9 scientific reports issued and available upon request, this report gives a chronological list of the publications with a summary of and/or comment on their content. The main effort (represented by 11 technical memoranda and 8 scientific reports) was directed toward an axiomatic theory of error-correcting, variable length codes.
