BIOCHEMISTRY OF INSECT DEVELOPMENT, 1965-1966.

Abstract

Research was conducted in four areas of invertebrate zoology: (1) The fine structure and metabolism of flight muscle from American cockroaches, Periplaneta americana, kept at low, medium and high temperatures. (2) Determination of the relationship between the ribonucleic acid (RNA) content of zooplankton from several Wisconsin lakes to the productivity of these lakes. (3) Collection, purification, isolation, and identification of the sex-attractant from Galleria mellonella, the Greater Waxmoth. (4) Purification and isolation of the juvenile hormone from extracts of adult male Hyalophora cecropia.
