SENSORY COGNITION,

Abstract

Gnosiological analysis was made of the basic forms of sensory cognition-sensation, perception, and ideation. One of the central topics is the problem of adequacy of sensory cognition, particularly sensations and perceptions. Sensations, perceptions, and ideas are considered to be subjective images of reality and not symbols. The character of images produced by sensory cognition is affected by conditions under which the object reflected exists, the structure and activity of the individuals sense organs, etc. The relationship of images, symbols, and signals is discussed and the relationship of images and models is elucidated.
