RELATION OF MECHANICAL PROPERTIES TO THE STRUCTURE OF IONIC SOLIDS.

Abstract

Measurements on the various fundamental mechanical properties of mica are being carried out concurrently with the detailed crystal structure analysis in order to understand the mechanism responsible for its unique mechanical properties. The microhardness of the mica is found to be influenced by the ambient atmosphere. (Author)
