RESULTS OF VARYING INVESTIGATIONS INTO APPROACHES TO GEODETIC PARAMETER ESTIMATION.

Abstract

Presented are the results of varying investigations into approaches to geodetic parameter estimation and documentation of associated computer programs developed under the effort. Results of an investigation to utilize integrated range rate data in an unconstrained solution for station position, integration constant and bias estimates are presented. The approach appears to be feasible, however large amounts of data will most likely be required in order to overcome the effects of serial correlation introduced by the integration. It would be of maximum use in instances where there are large uncertainties in the force model or where no model can be utilized. (Author)
