CONTACT ANALOG SIMULATOR EVALUATION: INVESTIGATIONS OF DIRECTOR SYMBOLS, DISPLAY ALTERATION, AND THE PRESENTATION OF SECONDARY FLIGHT INFORMATION.
Abstract
The experimental work was performed within the Flight Simulation Laboratory and made use of a dynamic platform programmed with UH-1 helicopter equations of motion. Three areas of research were conducted. One area included a series of experiments evaluating the use of different types of director symbols in the contact analog. Another area included a series of experiments to improve performance on basic maneuvers. A third area of investigation studied the display of secondary flight information with the contact analog. Experimental results are reported and discussed. (Author)
