A DESCRIPTION OF THE COHERING RECEIVER TO BE USED IN THE OSU SATELLITE COMMUNICATIONS FACILITY.

Abstract

The report describes the receiver which was designed for use with the Ohio State University Satellite Communications phased array. In particular, that part of an individual receiver channel called the 'cohering' receiver (a single-conversion, phase-locked loop) is described in detail. Included are discussions of the design parameters for the IF section and the phase-locked loop, circuit diagrams, and the testing procedure carried out to determine receiver characteristics.
