PREDICTED SIGNAL-TO-NOISE RATIOS AROUND THREE HF TRANSMITTING STATIONS.
Abstract
Plots of data are presented that enable prediction of maximum hf communication coverage between ships in the areas of the Philippine Islands, Gibralter, and Iceland-U. K. The data show the manner in which the signal-to-noise ratio varies with time for extremes of sunspot number and season. Short-term effects and propagation via mixed modes are not considered. (Author)
