PROPULSION TECHNOLOGY: MONTHLY SURVEY NO. 3.

Abstract

The survey is based on Soviet, Satellite, and CHICOM open sources published in 1966. It is the third in a series of monthly reports and deals with air breathing and rocket propulsion technology and the related nonchemical aspects of combustion. The report is divided into three sections. Section I (Review of the literature of the Warsaw-Pact countries) covers three types of information: Air breathing propulsion (1) Rotating engines--17 articles); Rocket propulsion (1) Liquid rocket propulsion--3 articles; (2) Solid rocket propulsion--2 articles; (3) Rocket engine concepts and applications--1 article); Combustion engineering (1) Subsonic combustion of fuel and air--8 articles; (2) Combustion of liquid rocket propellants--4 articles; (3) Combustion of solid rocket propellants--7 articles). Section II (Review of Communist Chinese literature) covers only air breathing propulsion with two articles on rotating engines. Section III lists 17 source documents. (Author)
