APPLICATION OF THERMO-SET PLASTICS TO PACKAGING.

Abstract

A study was undertaken to determine the advantages and limitations of thermo-set plastics in the field of packaging. It was concluded that no specific packaging application seems to be economically solved by the use of thermo-set plastics. High material costs, low tensile to weight strength properties and an unavailability of structural data presently limits the specific application of thermo-set plastics to the construction of drums, crates, boxes and unit shipping containers.
