A METHOD OF ELECTRODE SLAG CASTING OF INGOTS,

Abstract

During electrode slag casting of ingots, the liquid metal and, when necessary, the liquid slag are poured into the mold or the crystallizer through a hollow expendable or nonexpendable electrode. This improves the quality of the metal and the surface of the casting, increases the yield of suitable pieces and increases productivity. (Author)
