A QUARTZ AMPOULE FOR GROWING SINGLE CRYSTALS,

Abstract

The quartz ampoule for growing single crystals of gallium arsenide from a melt of gallium consists of two separable parts, the upper is equipped with a branch piece for distributing the arsenic as the volatile component and a system for magnetically moving the seed; this ampoule is different in that, for multiple use of the ampoule and its hermetization by metallic arsenic, a water cooler is placed in the region where the separable parts are joined and a resistance furnace is put on top of it. This ampoule is also equipped with an observation window. (Author)
