AN ELECTROOPTIC MODULATOR,

Abstract

The electrooptic modulator, consists of lattice-type polarizers between which a crystal is placed in an electrical field whose direction coincides with the direction of the light and the 2 axis of symmetry. To obviate treating the crystal surface and to remove the effect of temperature and moisture of the reflecting medium on its operation, a pentaerythrite crystal is used to rotate the optical intricatrixes by an angle of 22.5 degrees and to operate in a nonresonance regime.
