INVESTIGATION OF SILVER IODIDE FOR POSSIBLE FREQUENCY CONTROL APPLICATIONS.

Abstract

Pellets of silver iodide (AgI) prepared by compression of the powdered substance were investigated by various means to determine if any of the phenomena involved have possible application for the purposes of frequency control. The results of the investigation show that in the VLF range and above no such potential uses are immediately apparent from the experiments conducted. Below these frequencies AgI devices are potentially applicable to seismic and other quasistatic phenomena. (Author)
