STRUCTURE OF DRAWN POLYMERS.

Abstract

Morphology of deformed single crystals and of microfibrils pulled off at cracks, and chain mobility of cold drawn samples of polyethylene, polyoxymethylene, polyethylene oxide and polyamides were investigated using electron microscopy, electron diffraction and nuclear magnetic resonance. Most data were collected with polyethylene of low branching which among the polymers investigated has the simplest molecular and unit cell structure. (Author)
