ON NUMERICAL RESULTS OF A ONE-DIMENSIONAL UNSTEADY VARIATIONAL METHOD IN MGD,

Abstract

It is shown that the variational principle corresponding to the potential equation for unsteady MGD flows lends itself to a direct numerical evaluation of the variational functional with the aid of the Ritz method, leading thus to the construction of an approximate analytic solution for the velocity potential in the case of certain initial value problems.
