REPORT ON MATERIALS HANDLING EQUIPMENT TO BE PROVIDED MOBILE SUPPORT UNIT THREE FOR MOBILE BARGE USE.

Abstract

Because of limited manpower, it is believed materials handling mechanization can be applied aboard the supply barges to permit the use of personnel with greator efficiency, particularly under emergency conditions. By elimination of hard physical labor through use of suitable equipment, available manpower can be made more productive over considerably greater periods of time, when maximum output is of major importance. This report represents an endeavor to determine suitable materials handling equipment.
