UNITIZED CARLOADING.

Abstract

Tests were conducted to investigate the application of adhesives in securing carload shipments of domestic corrugated and fibreboard boxes. In this connection two test cars were prepared, one a conventional bonded block pattern, and the other a conventional bonded block pattern secured or 'unitized' with glue. Both cars were subjected to identical tests and the results were compared. The report contains the details of the methods of carloading, and all data on tests to which they were subjected. Conclusions based on these tests are included and comparative photographs are appended.
