ECHOLOCATION MECHANISMS IN NEOTROPICAL BATS.

Abstract

During an expedition to Trinidad and Panama, a number of bats and other mammals was collected, fixed for histological examination and photographed. Ctenuchid and Arctiid moths were collected and preserved Sounds produced by the bats and moths were crudely analysed in the field and recorded directly on tape for further detailed examination of their vocal mechanisms.
