Abstract
The papers give a comprehensive description of the distribution of deserts and the Gobi type of geomorphological features in these six provinces (regions), the formation mechanism, sand sources, the degree of danger and the empirical experience of sand resources management. Forestry, animal husbandry and social economy in the desert regions are analyzed. Preliminary proposals on land utilization through artificial modification are also included.
