AN INSTANCE OF THE ISOLATION OF PSEUDOTUBERCULOSIS BACTERIOPHAGE FROM E. COLI

Abstract

In studying the serological properties of the phage a comparison was made of the pseudotuberculosis phages of D'Erell and Kotlyarovaya with the corresponding antiphage sera; the cross neutralization reaction was also set up with the homo- and heterological antiphage sera according to Adams, with a calculation of the constant of the rate of neutralization of the phages. The values of the constant of the three phages studied equaled from 1.7 up to 18.9 minutes. Based on its serological properties the phage was identified as belonging to the pseudotuberculosis phage.
