NARRATIVE OF CHAIN CRUISE NO. 41.

Abstract

The narrative report of CHAIN Cruise 41 includes the chief scientist's journal, a summary track chart, and a log of stations occupied. This cruise to the Caribbean region was made for two purposes: first, to conduct a geophysical survey of the area including bathymetric, gravity, and magnetic measurements as well as coring and heat flow measurements in the area; and second, to complete the installation and check-out of the new Oceanographic Data Processing and Control System. The port of call was Kingston, Jamaica. A break in a salt water line of the CHAIN forced the early termination of the cruise at Guantanamo, Cuba.
