THE EFFECTS OF TYPHOONS ON WEATHER AT CLARK AIR BASE. PARTS I AND II.

Abstract

The study illustrates weather and wind conditions at Clark Air Base, Philippines when a typhoon or a tropical storm center is within 400 nautical miles of the Base. Part I of the study consists of typhoon tracks grouped by months and the maximum winds observed at Clark, based on data from 1947 to 1965. Tracks for 1966 have also been added in a separate chart. Part II shows the sequence of weather events observed at Clark during typhoon passages. This study can be used as a guide when making wind speed and weather forecasts during a typhoon passage.
