SYMPOSIUM OF GEOGRAPHICA SINICA ON GEOMORPHOLOGY (1965), COLLECTED PAPERS: TRANSLATED SUMMARY AND TITLES OF ARTICLES.

Abstract

The monograph contains 22 contributions selected from papers presented at the Symposium on Geomorphology of the Geographical Sinica held in March 1965 in Canton. The essays deal with the principles and methods of geomorphological classification to meet agricultural requirements, geomorphological classification in provincial regions and agricultural values of geomorphological conditions. Laws governing soil depreciation and loss of water resources are examined together with studies on the conservation of soil and water resources. Geomorphological features in relation to hydrological engineering and road constructions are also discussed. In addition to a comprehensive survey on the regional classification of geomorphological features, the scope of the papers presented includes the geomorphological traits of wind-blown sands and river basins and special studies on flows laden with mud and stone fragments. These collected papers may serve as useful references for agricultural planning, engineering undertakings, road constructions and scientific investigations. (Author)
