Abstract
The compilation of abstracts is divided into two sections: A Inorganic Materials and B. Organic Materials. There are five parts in section A: General studies (1 entry); Window materials (9 entries); Heat-shield materials (40 entries); Intermetallic compounds (3 entries); Electrochemical power supply systems (7 entries). There are two parts in section B: Low-density polymers (5 entries) (It is noted that Soviet open literature contains no data on polymers with a density less than 0.5 lb/cu. ft (0.008 g/cu. cm or 8.01 kg/cu. m). The lowest density mentioned is (0.03 g/cu. cm); Polymers containing atomically dispersed metals (8 entries). Three appendixes containing supplementary information on improved polymeric materials or on the thermal degradation of heat-resistant plastics are included: Glass-reinforced plastics with improved mechanical and thermal properties (5 entries); Polymers with improved mechanical and thermal properties (7 entries); Thermal degradation of some heat-resistant polymers (4 entries).
