EVALUATION AND TESTING OF 7-WAY BONELESS, FROZEN BEEF.
Abstract
Operational studies were conducted at six Navy general messes ashore on an 80,000-lb. preproduction sample of type I and type II 7-way boneless, frozen beef to determine their compliance with the purchase description, the adequacy of the purchase description, and the suitability of the issue for Navy use. Inspections of the preproduction sample showed that several categories of both types of beef failed to comply with the requirements of the purchase description, and that the purchase description itself required revision to be adequate as a document covering future procurement of the beef.
