DEVICES FOR LOADING AND UNLOADING PALLET LOADS IN AND ADJACENT TO FREIGHT CAR DOORWAYS.

Abstract

Two devices were developed which can be used to position the pallet loads in and adjacent to freight car doorways so that they can be easily unloaded by fork truck from ground or warehouse floor level. Section one describes the tests conducted with a pallet torque hook in unloading palletized provisions at a building without a dock. Section two describes the installation of a ratchet operated winch on a hand pallet truck and its operation in loading and unloading palletized freight cars.
