ANALYSIS OF STROKING PROPELLANT ACTUATED DEVICE,

Abstract

The report presents a digital computer simulation of the performance of a closed ballistic device. The equations describing the device are presented and solved simultaneously by Runge Kutta fourth order methods programmed in Fortran for the Univac Solid State 90 digital computer. The computer program, its input-output formats, and a comparison between experimental and computed performance are also presented. The results of this comparison indicate that this computer program can be used to accurately simulate the performance of closed ballistic devices and, therefore, can be used as an effective tool to aid in the design of future ballistic devices of this type.
