PRODUCTION ENGINEERING MEASURE FOR A PHASE II SUPER POWER HYDROGEN THYRATRON TUBE.
Abstract
Repair and improvement of the Phase II test equipment was completed and tests performed on tube No. 14 which contained increased baffling over that contained in earlier models. The tube performed over a wide reservoir range and demonstrated satisfactory operation at 50KV-1500 PPS conditions. Catastrophic failure occurred when the gradient-grid seal became defective. New test conditions are discussed. (Author)
