POWER SPECTRUM ANALYSIS OF HYDROFOIL CRAFT MOTION.

Abstract

A power spectrum analysis was derived from values of the autocorrelation function through a Fourier transform. In addition, plots were made of each power spectrum in terms of frequency and amplitude. Although this analysis is useful for any time series, it is used in relation to the hydrofoil craft SEA LEGS. Cyclic loadings were measured for operation in varying sea states, speeds, and directions. Data were taken when the hydrofoil was both in the water (displacement mode) and out of the water (flying mode). (Author)
