PRODUCTION ENGINEERING MEASURES STUDY, VOLUME II. PART I. MULTIPLIER - 45KV.

Abstract

The life expectancy MTBF was shown to be greater than 3000 hours. This performance exceeds contract requirements by over 50 percent. The major causes for multiplier failures was isolated and processing procedures to remove these failure mechanisms were established. The capacitor was the major contributor to the failure of the multiplier. This was demonstrated in the burn-in cycle of the manufacturing process. The success in processing the capacitor was proven by the life test (3310 MTBF) and this life expectancy was obtained after a great deal of effort and time was spent to develop the process and procedures for the handling of the capacitor.
