EFFECTS OF PRESSURE VESSEL GEOMETRY ON THE INTERIOR BALLISTICS OF GAS GUNS

Abstract

An analytical treatment of the performance of a gas gun was carried out by means of a modified 'Lagrange approximation.' The actual local cross- sectional area of the high-pressure vessel of the gas gun, larger than the area of the base of the gun's barrel, was taken into account and its effect on the performance determined.
