INDUCTIVE POWER SUPPLY FOR A 100-IN. HOTSHOT WIND TUNNEL

Abstract

The report describes a 100-million joule inductive power supply. A description of all major, or unique, components is presented. The supply furnishes energy primarily to a 100-inch. test section Hotshot Tunnel; however, other applications have been made since the initial operation. The system theory of operation is presented along with major operational problems that have developed during the five years the system has been in operation.
