THE DYNAMICS OF FLIGHT STABILITY AND CONTROLLABILITY OF FLYING VEHICLES,

Abstract

The book is devoted to the theory of stability and controllability of flying vehicles. The stability and controllability of winged flying vehicles is the basic subject for a wide range of velocities, including supersonic velocities. The book discusses contemporary methods of investigating stability and controllability in longitudinal and lateral motions, on takeoff and landing and in critical angles of attack. The transfer functions for a flying vehicle are considered, as are the methods for selecting optimum vehicle and automation parameters. In addition to the mathematical foundations of the studies, engineering methods for the computation of stability and controllability with numerical examples are presented. (Author)
