NOMINAL 60,000-BTU/HR, COMPACT, VERTICAL, 208-VOLT, 3-PHASE, 60-CYCLE (MODEL CE60VAL6) AND 208-VOLT, 3-PHASE, 400-CYCLE (MODEL CE60VAL4) AIR-CONDITIONING UNITS.

Abstract

The report covers the final engineer design testing of two nominal 60,000-Btu/hr, compact, vertical, air-conditioning models. These are floor-mounted, air-cooled, monochlorodifluoromethane refrigerant (R-22)-charged, electric-motor-driven, 208-volt, 3-phase, 60-cycle (Military Model CE60VAL6) and 208-volt, 3-phase, 400-cycle (Military Model CE60VAL4) units. Environmental testing and 4,000 hours of endurance testing as well as extensive performance-type testing were completed on the air conditioners. The report concludes: (a) The Models CE60VAL6 and CE60VAL4 vertical, compact air conditioners meet the design objectives of compact, lightweight construction. (b) Both models meet all the essential Quality Materiel Requirements and several of the desirable requirements. (c) The units have high cooling capacities and highly advantageous airflow characteristics. (d) The units are suitable for applications which require large cooling capacities in a small, compact space envelope. (Author)
