SOME RESULTS OF PALEOMAGNETIC RESEARCH IN CHINA,

Abstract

A paleomagnetic correlation of red beds belonging to various time-intervals of the Mesozoic and Cenozoic in the Xichuan (Hsichuan), Yunnan, Hunan, Hubei and Guangdong (Canton) areas was made on the basis of the In vector; in connection with this, an approximate estimate of the stability of In was made by the method of remagnetization circles. From these researches the positions of the Jurassic, Cretaceous and Tertiary geomagnetic poles were determined. The results of the paleomagnetic studies in the different areas are briefly outlined.
