SIGNAL TO NOISE RATIOS FOR MULTIPATH COMBINERS. PART VI. GENERAL COVARIANCES.

Abstract

The combiner performance factor in the general case depends only on the correlation of arrivals on a single path. The arrival correlation need only be approximated closely over the upper part of its range, roughly from 100 percent to 50 percent correlation. The exponential model is a satisfactory approximant for the general case. The bandwidth spreading factors and exponential model are essentially independently determined. The performance factor for the envelope combiner depends upon terms in each of which an exponential approximant is satisfactory. (Author)
