Abstract

The compilation of abstracts is based on Soviet open sources published 1965-1966 and one source published in 1960. It is the seventh in a series and is divided into two sections: I. Communications equipment (12 entries); II. Communications facilities and their location (11 entries). Pertinent information included: drop and connecting communication cables, KNK-6S carrier telephone system for rural areas, T-51 and T-63 teletypewriters, RM-24 radio relay system, Aragvi and Prizma facsimile equipment, ST-35 teletypewriter, ETI-64 telegraph-signal distortion meter, ZhR-3P transistorized transceiver, DTN-1 and DTN-2 long-distance voice-frequency calling units, telecommunication facilities on the Abakan-Tayshet RR line, development of an integrated automatic communications network, operation of point-to-train radio communication equipment. The report is profusely illustrated. A bibliography of 23 entries is presented at the end of the report. (Author)
