THE OPTIMUM COMPOSITION OF AL10 FOR CASTING PISTONS,

Abstract

On the basis of the literature, statistics and experimental data it was established that the alloys with 6.25-8.0% Cu and 5.0-6.0% Si have the best properties for pistons. Along with the improvement of casting properties of the alloy AL 10, the increase of the copper and silicon in it leads to lowering its coefficient of linear expansion; increase in heat resistance, hardness, bettering of other physical-mechanical and technological properties, and to improvement of the performance of pistons.
