RATIONAL AND INTERACTIONAL DECISION-MAKING ROLES IN TASK-ORIENTED GROUPS.

Abstract

As part of a long term effort to develop and verify a theory that cognitive styles differ according to differential socialization, and that they in turn affect role behavior in task-oriented decision-making groups, this study tested the hypothesis that 'strategists' would tend to emerge as leaders in groups made up of both 'puzzle-solvers' and 'strategists.' The results tend to confirm the hypothesis.
