OPEN WATER TEST SERIES OF A CONTROLLABLE PITCH PROPELLER WITH VARYING NUMBER OF BLADES,

Abstract

A series of open water propeller tests was conducted with an adjustable pitch propeller with 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 blades. The faired coefficient curves of thrust, torque, and efficiency are presented with the propeller design. An example is given to illustrate the use of the curves in selecting the optimum propeller for a given set of conditions. (Author)
