STUDIES IN MARINE GEOPHYSICS AND UNDERWATER SOUND FROM DRIFTING ICE STATIONS

Abstract

The report contains research at Fletcher's Ice Island (T-3). During the period the island moved west and northwest describing an arc approximately 425 miles long. One hundred and nineteen fixes were obtained. The overall distance between fixes for the six-month period was 734 miles, the net distance was 322 miles, and the meandering coefficient was 2.3. Oceanographic data and measurements were made.
