PRESSURE MEASUREMENT IN THE 0.0001 TO 0.0000001 TORR RANGE,

Abstract

The report describes the results of an experimental program to establish the accuracy of pressure measurement in the 0.0001 to 0.0000001 torr range using a 'calibrated conductance-type pressure measurement system'. The data collected during the study is discussed and tabulated. Results of the study indicate that the calibrated conductance-type measurement system investigated can be considered as a standard-type calibration device for the pressure range of 0.0001 to 0.0000001 torr with a maximum uncertainty of 10.3 percent. The difference between the system pressure calculated from measured conditions and a calibrated (McLeod) ion gauge was found to be 3.7 percent maximum in the range 0.00001 to 0.0000001 torr.
