REAL GAS EFFECTS IN HYPERSONIC AERODYNAMIC HEATING.

Abstract

The report presents a review of some of the problems associated with aerodynamic heating in hypersonic flows. Included in the report are a brief discussion of the chemistry of high temperature air and a discussion of the laminar boundary layer equations in dissociated air. Also presented is a simplified method for calculating the heat transfer rate distribution about the nose of a hemisphere-cylinder body in dissociated air. (Author)
