ASYMPTOTIC EXPANSIONS FOR THE COEFFICIENTS OF ANALYTIC FUNCTIONS.

Abstract

Under suitable hypotheses concerning the analytic function f(z) = Sum from n=o to infinity of (alpha sub n)z to the nth power, it is shown that alpha sub n has an asymptotic expansion for large n. This result is used to estimate the number of idempotent elements in the symmetric semigroup on n elements. (Author)
