ON THE SOLUTION OF BOUNDARY PROBLEMS BY THE METHOD OF FINITE DIFFERENCES.

Abstract

The second boundary value problem is considered for a linear elliptic equation in divergence form in R to the mth power. A system of finite difference equations is set up and it is proved, in outline, that the solution of the difference equations converges to the solution of the differential equation as the mesh size tends to zero.
