SPLINE FUNCTION APPROXIMATIONS FOR SOLUTIONS OF ORDINARY DIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS.
Abstract
Quadratic and cubic spline approximations to solutions of initial value problems are shown to be related to the trapezoidal rule and Milne-Simpson method, respectively, while higher degree splines lead to divergent methods.
