PRESERVED EMBRYONAL BONE HOMOGRAFTS,

Abstract

Preserved diaphysis of tibilar embryonal bone, transplanted into soft tissue of an adult organism, undergoes gradual resorption without any signs of replacement by new bone growth. Transplants die in the similar manner, whether with or without periosteum. It is assumed that the fate of the transplant depends not alone upon the immunobiological compatibility of the donor and host tissues, but also upon the ambient conditions (the bed of the transplant and function).
